An International Transfer Certificate (ITC) is required for every player aged 10 years or older, who are playing football in Australia for the first time, is not an Australian citizen, or whose last registration was overseas. This is a FIFA requirement to ensure players are not under contract or suspended, and is applicable even if the player is an Australian citizen or if they have been registered in Australia previously.

During the ITC process, depending on whether a participant constitutes as a minor application or a senior application, there are differing document requirements in order to process an ITC, therefore allowing a participant to play football in Australia.

Senior ITC:

A senior ITC application is required for all players aged 18 and above, whereby his/her last registration was for a football club overseas. Regardless if you are an Australian citizen returning to play or non-Australian, you are still required to complete an ITC to support your registration to play.

For senior players, once you have completed your registration through PlayFootball, and have indicated your last registration was overseas, your registration will be sent to your perspective club.

The required documentation you will need to support your ITC is a copy of your passport

Below, are two examples of an acceptable copy of your passport:

Once you have obtained a copy of your passport, you will be required to send your passport to your member federation. You can find the appropriate member federation contact details here.

Minor ITC:

A minor ITC application is required for all players aged between 10 and 18, whereby his/her last registration was for a football club overseas. Regardless if you are an Australian citizen returning to play or non-Australian, you are still required to complete an ITC to support your registration to play.

For a minor application, the documentation required will be a 'Minor ITC application & declaration form'. This form can be found on page 12 & 13 of the following link: Guide to ITCs and Minor Applications

Once you have completed the initial, you will need to submit additional documentation, depending on your status as a player. Below is a list of the differing colour forms for a player to select from, to accommodate a minor ITC application:

For further information regarding what documentation is required per coloured form, please visit the guide to ITC's and Minor Applications guide found here.

Once you have completed the minor ITC application & declaration form, and obtained copies of the necessary supporting documents, please send through to your member federation. The contact details for your member federation are found here.
